Dear Incoming Students
University of Haifa
We are excited to welcome you to the University of Haifa for the upcoming Spring Semester.
Every few weeks you will be receiving this pre-arrival digital newsletter that will include useful information and important tips from us
to help make your arrival to Haifa most comfortable!
Facebook Group for New Students
We have created a Facebook Group specifically for new incoming graduate students for the 2020-2021 academic year. There you will be able to connect with your classmates, raise any questions you might have, and learn about events on-campus and in the city of Haifa!
Please note, that even though Israel is entering a lock-down during the holiday period, flights to Israel are still ongoing at this time.
Once you have made your final flight plans, please inform us regarding your final travel arrangements and expected arrival to Israel.
Bring with you on the flight:
Special Entry Permit (Received with Visa)
Ministry of Health Approval
University of Haifa Declaration
Proof of Insurance
According to new regulations entry from abroad is divided into Red and Green Zones. The list of countries is updated on the regular basis, and depends on internal condition within the country.
Students arriving from Red Countries are required to self-quarantine for a 14-day period from the date of arrival to Israel.
There is no change in arrival dates for students coming from Green Zones.
Please be sure to review the updated information prior your arrival to ensure you are acting in accordance with the Ministry of Health Regulations.
STAY UP-TO-DATE: TRAVEL GUIDELINES >>
We have arranged delivery service from the mini-market on-campus for those staying in the dormitories and off-campus within Haifa during this time.

All international students must hold a valid student visa during their studies in Israel.
However, due to Covid-19, according to new regulations you will need to present additional documentation to the Embassy. Please, fill in and sign the following Student Declaration form, for us to send you the required document to bring with you to the Embassy.
We are working hard to prepare for your arrival and are very excited to welcome you to campus this October. Get to know the people behind the email addresses!
We remind you that you are required to have an Israeli cell phone number for the duration of your time in Israel, especially during the quarantine period.
We strongly encourage you to pre-order your SIM card so you can have it upon arrival to campus. This is just one example of a provider, you are not required to purchase from them specifically. However, as they will deliver the cards in advance, we suggest it as a good option for you upon arrival with the possibility to transfer to another company per your preference, after the quarantine period.
We offer various on-campus housing options to our international students. If you are interested in on-campus dormitories, the deadline for deposit is August 31.
Please note, the quarantine On-Campus can only be carried out in the Talia dorms, which includes 3-6 room apartments, each with private bathroom to keep the safety of our students.
After the two-week period, it might be possible to move to another dorm based on availability.
You can also check some of the off-campus housing options on our website.
What is/is not provided by the dormitories and what shall I bring with me to be fully prepared.
Please view the information for suggested packing list and things to bring with you to make your arrival most comfortable.
The University of Haifa is planning to start the 2020-2021 Academic year on October 18th. In the shadow of Covid-19, we understand the complexity of the situation and we are prepared to address all of our students needs. Most of our programs will open this year using the hybrid mode of learning, that will allow both on-campus and online learning during the first semester.

The dorms grocery store offers a basic kitchenware package that includes a pan, cooking pot, cutlery, cutting board, plate bowl and a coffee cup.
They also offer towels and linens.
